The KZN Inland Hockey Association was formed in the early 1990s to unite schools, clubs and development programs within the Midlands and surrounding regions under a single structured body. What began as a small committee driven by passionate volunteers soon evolved into an organised framework for local leagues, umpire pathways and youth programmes – helping create consistency and opportunity across the region.
Over the years, Inland Hockey has grown into a recognised force in provincial competition, producing players who have gone on to represent KwaZulu-Natal and even South Africa at higher levels. Through perseverance, community involvement and a vision to grow the sport, the association continues to expand participation while honouring the foundations built by the athletes, coaches and administrators who shaped its early years.
There are several ways to get involved with the KZN Inland Hockey Association.
We uphold honesty, fairness, and transparency in all our decisions, actions, and competitions.
We value every participant—athletes, coaches, officials, and supporters—and promote dignity, humility, and positive behavior on and off the field.
We provide equal opportunities for both boys and girls, ensuring every student has access to participate, grow, and excel.
We foster collaboration, unity, and a spirit of togetherness, recognizing that success is built through collective effort.
We strive for the highest standards in coaching, performance, leadership, and organisational operations.
We promote commitment, responsibility, and self-control as essential elements of athletic and personal growth.
We encourage fair play, humility in victory, and grace in defeat while honoring the true spirit of the game.
We prioritise the physical and emotional well-being of every participant by providing a safe, supportive, and healthy environment.
